Age of Empire II: The Conquerors Age of Empires II was certainly last year's top selling game, hands down. Will the expansion pack improve that much upon a game that's already a winner? Interstate '82 It's 1982 and automotive terrorism is at an all-time high. Having a weapon mounted on the top of your vehicle isn't just commonplace, it's common sense. Better have a fast, reliable ride, or you're going to wind up a skidmark.
At least, that's the premise. If only the game could fully live up to it. A great concept, with lots of weapons and automobiles to choose from, feels a little... well, weird. The handling of the vehicle is just not what you'd like to see... maybe it was the model I was driving, I don't know.
The competition is pretty rough, until you slag them... then, you have to run them down outside the cars. If you line them up just right, you can slam them into nearby buildings. Be aware, of course, that they can do the same to you.
The demo is okay, but this game is nowhere near as spectacular as the graphics in Driver. It's certainly playable and fun, but how long anyone would be interested in this is still kind of hard to say.
NOX That's right, the free NOX demo is available for immediate download! This demo allows you to play as the conjurer in 8-player deathmatch mode either on the Internet or on a Local Area Network (LAN). Remember that you will need DIRECTX 7.0 to play.
